Outline
Angle. The definitional query for the whole emirate and the natural top of the internal-link tree: from here the reader goes to a community page and then to listings. The differentiator is being exact about where foreign freehold does and does not apply, because most competitor pages say “Ras Al Khaimah is freehold” as if the whole emirate were, which is wrong.
Sections.
- The rule in one paragraph. Foreign nationals may own freehold in designated areas of Ras Al Khaimah. Outside those areas, ownership is restricted. Note the legal shape, which differs from Dubai’s: Ras Al Khaimah Decision No. 12 of 2007 grants freehold to non-citizens by reference to the entities that hold the land rather than by drawing a map, and Law No. 11 of 2021 confines expatriate freehold to areas designated by the Ruler. Title registers with the Ras Al Khaimah real estate department, not the Dubai Land Department.
- The freehold communities. One short block each, with what it is, who built it, the price entry point and a link to the area page. Al Hamra Village, Al Marjan Island, Mina Al Arab, and the newer schemes. Each block ends with the community page link, which makes this the hub page for the areas tree.
- Where freehold does not apply. The city districts and the ownership position there. Al Nakheel is not a designated freehold area for non-GCC buyers. Julphar Towers is the exception generally marketed with freehold title, and any buyer should have the title type confirmed on the specific unit before committing. The adjoining Dafan Al Nakheel is best described the same way, because the freehold market there is Julphar Towers rather than the district as a whole.
- Freehold against leasehold against usufruct. Three definitions, what registers on the title deed, what happens at expiry, and how it affects resale and mortgage.
- How the purchase works. Offer, memorandum of understanding, deposit, developer NOC, transfer at the RAK land department, title deed. Fees at each step.
- What ownership gives you. Title, the right to let, the right to sell, a share in the owners association, and the service charge obligation that comes with it. What it does not give you: automatic residency.
- Practical checks. Outstanding service charges, mortgage on the title, developer NOC conditions, unit area on the deed against the brochure.
- FAQs as listed.
Tone reminders. No dashes. Precision on the legal position, on anything not verified against a government source.
